Sputnik and the Space Race
Competition between the United States and the Soviet Union wasn't limited to planet Earth. It extended into outer space as well. Research the events on the handout provided to find out which country hit the milestones first.
You can access the resources you need at the Space Race assignment at Google Classroom. Before we move forward too much, I want to address some events from the 1960s that we have not yet discussed. To do so, each of you will be creating your own unique timeline of events but you will be working with all of your classmates. For each event you research, you will need to do the following
