Your to-do list
Islam in PicturesThere is so much to understand about Islam and we have limited time to cover it all. There is no way we could write enough about Islam to understand it so let's use a tool that is worth thousand words: images. During class today we will create and examine several images to help us understand more about Islam. Before we begin making our illustrations, we need to make sure we don't get ourselves in trouble. The Five PillarsLet's start with some key beliefs: the Five Pillars of Islam. They are as follows. Using the medium of your choice, create an image that explains what each of these pillars mean. You could create an image on your iPad using apps such as Canva or Adobe Post. You could hand draw an image on a piece of paper. Make sure that your image conveys what the pillar stands for. While you can put the name of the pillar on the image, the viewer should be able to tell what pillar you are illustrating just by looking at the picture you create. Each pillar is linked to an article explaining it. You make work in teams of up to four for this activity. Please share your images with me when you are done. Islamic HolidaysMuslims celebrate a number of different holidays. Let's take one of our traditions, sending cards to people on the holidays and develop cards for a Muslim holiday. Consider making a card for one of the following holidays/festivals. Each of you should produce your own card. Please share it with me when you are done. Not all Muslims are the sameYour homework
