Plastic bag bans have spread around the country over the past few years. As we heard in the Planet Money episode in our last class, there are now over 240 states and municipalities with bans. The question I have for you is is banning single-use plastic bags the best choice for the environment? Your task over the next few classes is to decide what action should be taken on this issue. We'll work step by step together to develop your position. Once we've gathered the information you need, it will be up to you to choose a medium that you feel will best communicate your message. |
What action are you and your family taking to try to help the planet or protect the environment? Please list some of the actions you are taking at your class' padlet.

This may sound counterintuitive but what if was actually the case? Should we not spend our time sorting out our recycling from our trash? As with most topics we discuss in this class, the answer isn't so simple. Please head to the So, Should We Recycle assignment on Google Classroom. Begin answering the questions from NPR Planet Money's episode entitled So, Should We Recycle?
If you want to learn more about the origins of recycling in the United States, you can listen to that podcast here. |
