I would like us to take a journey around the world to discover how climate change is impacting various places. Please head to Google Classroom to learn what we are going to do.
While I know what I have posted below are professionally produced news reports, they do provide a good example of the type of thing I'm looking for in your project.
After taking a look at PowerSchool, it looks like everyone could benefit from knocking off at least one more assignment. Take a look at where things stand for you, and develop a plan for the day. Be ready to check in with me regarding what you are going to do.
The best way to travelMany of us may already be thinking about the next vacation and traveling to someplace warm. Put yourself in the position my family used to be in. My family likes to head to Florida for either February or April vacation. If we fly, my boys, Dexter on the left and Derek on the right, used to have to sit in their own seat in a car seat. That doubles the cost of the trip compared with them just sitting in my wife and my laps. The alternative is to drive: a longer journey but the cost doesn't go up for additional passengers in our car. Keep in mind, because I teach, there is no escaping early to avoid the outrageous cost of flights. What would you do in this situation: fly or drive? Please post your response to Google Classroom. Plastic, paper, or cloth? What is the best way to be environmentally friendly when you shop? A cloth bag? Paper?Plastic? The answer might not be as simple as you think. Listen to this episode of NPR's Planet Money and record the pros and cons for each type of bag. Please head to the Paper, Plastic or Cloth assignment on Google Classroom for the resources you need. How much plastic do you use?Take a look around you right now. How much plastic are you using? Once you have considered this, take a look this article from the New York Times' reporter A.J. Jacobs who tried to live a day without plastic.
What are you doing to save the planet?Save the planet: Don't recycle!

Now that we know that we can have an impact for good on the planet, we are going examine three different policy options for addressing climate change: Past Emitters Must Pay, Responsibility Must be Shared by All, and Economic Growth and Development Must Come First. Please complete the graphic organizer on these options. As you do, think about which option you think is best.
Please submit your work to Google Classroom.
