AMERICA'S RESPONSE TO A CHANGING WORLD
Your to-do listFor today's asynchronous Wednesday, I'm going to encourage you to make up work. I know that there are Who Gets In projects missing as well as old homework assignments and our work on the border from Monday's class. Those tasks should keep you busy today. Try to make some time to get outside as well.

Your to-do listWith the end of the quarter rapidly approaching, I wanted to give you a chance to put yourself in a better position and hopefully relieve some stress. I would like to give you today to make some progress on your Who Gets In paper and/or make up some work from the Third Quarter, which ends in a week.
Whatever you choose to focus on today, please let me know what you plan on accomplishing by posting it to the Your plan for Thursday, 3/25 question on Google Classroom. My hope is that the work done today will help to put everyone in a better position to wrap up the quarter. We'll resume discussing immigration on Monday. How do you determine what is needed to construct a convincing argument?Watch the video and answer the questions below.
Please head to Google Classroom to respond to these questions under the Constructing a Convincing Argument question. You can find the video there as well. Best on TVGiven that your opinion is based on personal experience, how can you convince someone else your opinion is the right one? What's in your argument: |
The United States has a mixed history in regards to immigration. While on the one hand we have a reputation of being built on immigrants and have national. symbols such as the Statue of Liberty that are associated with that reputation, the United States also has countless examples of excluding, limiting, and deporting groups of people from this country in order to control who lives here. Please head to the Golden Door or Locked Gate? assignment on Google Classroom. Read the packet posted there and look for evidence of the United States' openness to immigration and also how they have kept immigrants out. Once you are done, use that evidence to support your position on this question: In regards to immigration, is the United States an open door or a locked gate? |
