Some science to startBreaking down your assumptionsWe might think we know the best ways to help the planet but some of our assumptions may have also lead us astray. Check out CNN's Climate Change quiz and Google Sustainability's Your Plan site (You can see Google Sustainability's full site here.) As you work please note five things you learned that surprised you or ran counter to what you thought you knew or changes you might make in your life based on what you learned. Please submit your items to the Surprises from Climate Change question on Google Classroom. Once you have submitted your items, please look over your classmates' submissions, find two more surprises from them, and add them to your own submission. Flex timeI considered adding one more climate change activity to today's agenda but, after getting caught up on some grading, I think all of you could benefit from some time to get caught up.

Big Changes for American GovernmentThere certainly is plenty the United States should be proud of in regards to its government but that doesn’t make that there aren’t ways that it could be improved. If you could change something about the way our government operates, what would it be? If you have more than one idea, please share them. Please head to Google Classroom to post your ideas. Creative Solutions for American GovernmentWe’ve taken a look at some common ideas around fixing the United States’ government but what if we got outside of the box to make some changes. What if we, for example, broke big states up? Or changed how many elections we have? Allowed non-citizens to vote? Changed the voting age to zero (Yes, you read that right.)? Or added more political parties? Your task is to choose two of the articles and write a response to the authors. In each response, please clearly state whether or not you agree with the author and provide at least one reason to support your position. This assignment will be due Thursday, December 7th. Your Supreme Court ProjectI want to give you some time today to respond to the feedback that I gave you on your Supreme Court Graphic Organizers. This will hopefully give you some momentum towards submitting the final product on Friday, December 17th.
