So You've Conquered Iraq
While the 2003 Invasion of Iraq was successful in toppling Saddam Hussein's regime, the issues in Iraq did not end there. In fact, you could argue that they only became more complicated and lead to more problems in the region including the creation of ISIS. What's going on in Syria? For our next current events assignment, I would like to complete our new and improved Current Events Research Coding Form. For this assignment I am also placing some limits on your events. I would like each of you to pick an event from Syria that took place since the beginning of the school year. If we are going to understand Syria, we need to understand IraqYou have identified terrorism as the greatest threat to our country. If we are going to study terrorism, ISIS is a great choice to focus on. If we are going to focus on ISIS, we should understand what is going on in Syria. If we are going to wrap our heads around the complexity of Syria, we should probably look at the United States' involvement in the Middle East starting with the Persian Gulf War. And we should really look further back than that if we really are going to understand what is happening. Unfortunately, we only have until January. Your homework: Who are the Iraqis?Your task is to create an Spark Page presentation that answers the following questions about Iraq.
If you need help with how to use Spark Page, there are a number of good help videos on YouTube. |
